One Last Week in Maine

I'm sitting here in a rather stunned state that our trip is nearly over!  We began and ended our trip with a week in Maine, and we head home tomorrow.  How can that be?  This past ten weeks has flown by!  And oh, what a wonderful ten weeks it has been!

This last week in Ogunquit has been spent relaxing.  To be able to stay in one place, a place which is almost like home for us, has been so peaceful.  Truly this week has been the calm before the storm of "real life" when we get back home.

We were lucky enough to be here for Ogunquitfest!  So much fun as we walked up and down the streets.  All the neighborhood businesses put scarecrows everywhere and the whole town is decked out for Halloween.

Anchorage by the Sea also had jack-o-lanterns up on their fence every night.  Almost like a mini Pumpkin Festival!

We absolutely love going to the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.  Although you're not allowed to take pictures inside, the grounds there, right on the edge of the ocean are absolutely beautiful.  Even in the fall, there is a peaceful beauty to the gardens.

We couldn't resist a little fun along the way!  I've taken pictures here many times with my mother-in-law, my daughters and my friends!

A visit to southern Maine is not complete until you've gone to see the Nubble Lighthouse.  Today it was just stunning with the storm clouds overhead!

Last, but certainly not least, was our "goodbye to Maine" walk along Marginal Way!

Believe it or not, and as corny as it sounds, we literally walked off into the sunset!

And so it ends!  We hope you've enjoyed travelling along with us!  We've enjoyed sharing our travels with you!!
